Eastern Goods Yard, Kings Cross, London
City Insulation were appointed to undertake the Thermal & Acoustic Insulation within a number of buildings associated with the Eastern Goods Yard project. The project consisted of the complete refurbishment of a listed Granary building which has been transformed into office accommodataion, refurbishment of the Eastern Transit Shed and the construction of a new building finished as a shell and core for future fit out by teh University of Arts, London. A total of 15,000m² of insulation was applied to ductwork within voids and plantrooms. Over 20,000m of pipework was insulated using Kingspan Phenolic foam. Trace heating system was also

Somerville University– Oxford
City Insulation were appointed to remove asbestos insulation board (AIB) from risers within the student bedrooms in the accommodation blocks. The work was carried out during end of term.  City Insulation were also appointed to remove asbestos acoustic slabs from the internal chapel walls. After the removal of the slab we then reinsulated the walls in acoustic insulation to provide the chapel with the same acoustic properties as before.

LLANDOUGH M.H.U - Cardiff
City Insulation were appointed to undertake the thermal insulation at the new £44 million older people mental health development at the existing Llandough Hospital for Cardiff and the Vale NHS Trust. This facility was delivered on a congested site adjacent to a live operational hospital and necessitated a high degree of co-ordination to ensure existing hospital services were not hindered. The building composed of four wards, extensive rehabilitation facilities, accommodation for a diverse range of therapy, a day hospital and outpatients with ventilation and water services. Chiller Replacement - ECMWF – READING
City Insulation has undertaken various thermal insulation contracts at the European Centre for Medium Weather Forecasts in Reading. Our latest project was the replacement of three chillers which were done in stages as not to disrupt the chilled water being provided to the building.  The main services were routed externally where the insulation finish was  a layer of polyiosbutylene then encased within aluminium sheeting.  It was then routed through a service tunnel where the insulation finish is aluminium sheeting secured with aluminium bands.  The Pipework was insulated using kingspan phenolic foam.

New Laboratory of Molecular Biology - Cambridge
City Insulation were apointed to undertake the Thermal & Acoustic Insulation at the new Laboratory of Molecular Biology at Cambridge for the Medical research Council. The new building has state of the art facilities and is one of the largest medical research buildings to be constructed in recent years to house 400 scientists and 200 support staff. The building was made up of 6 zones of laboratory and office space spread over 3 floors with a restaurant and main extraction plant located at fourth floor level. Air handling plant is located in 4 main plant towers, each 4 storeys high

Ashmolean Museum, Oxford
City Insulation were appointed to undertake the Thermal & Acoustic Insulation at the new Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. Existing sections of the existing structure were demolished keeping the main front facade to make way for a new building to house new galleries, new state of the art storage facilities and an Education centre. The building included 39 Galleries over 5 floors and included offices and a new restaurant located at fourth floor level. The main air handling plant was located in 4th floor plantrooms which fed a number of ventilation risers located within 'Fat walls' to provide temperature and humidity

Business Village - Wandsworth
City Insulation was appointed to remove all notifiable asbestos materials from the business village office block in Wandsworth prior to the site being demolished. This consisted of the removal of asbestos insulation boards (AIB) from the windows, wrapping , cutting and removing asbestos insulation from pipework and the removal of various asbestos products with the boiler room.

RAF HALTON
City Insulation were appointed to do the removal of asbestos thermal insulation from pipework, encapsulation and removal of asbestos cement at various buildings at the RAF Halton site.  The site is an active royal air force base where security is at its highest. The works were carried out in various buildings scattered all over the site making the co-ordination of works extremely difficult.
