August 2008 - September 2009

City Insulation were appointed to undertake the Thermal & Acoustic Insulation at the new
Ashmolean Museum in Oxford.

Existing sections of the existing structure were demolished keeping the main front facade
to make way for a new building to house new galleries, new state of the art storage facilities and an
Education centre.

The building included 39 Galleries over 5 floors and included offices and a new
restaurant located at fourth floor level.

The main air handling plant was located in 4th floor plantrooms which fed a number
of ventilation risers located within 'Fat walls' to provide temperature and humidity control for
the new galleries.

A total of 10,000m of insulation was applied to ductwork within voids and plantrooms as well
as 2,500m of acoustic insulation to prevent noise break out into the galleries.

Over 8,000m of pipework was insulated using Kingspan Phenolic foam.

We have since carried out a further phase associated with the new 6.5 million pound
Egyptian Gallery.

Asbestos removal works were carried out for BEARD construction and Thermal Insulation works
completed to HVAC services for Lawton Building Services.
